Easy Red 2 is a game for those who know what they want from a World War II game: Modelling of weapons and movements, historical accuracy in battles. , huge maps with many deployed units, vehicles that dominate the battlefields, and a realistic approach to combat.
In this new version of Easy red we’ve written everything from scratch to achieve quality game mechanics, and optimised for control with a new great looking design that works even on weak machines.
We take you to Italy, from the shores of Anzio, to the bombed-out peaks of Montecassino, to Japan in the middle of the Battle of Kwajalein and during the German glider invasion of the Greek island of Kos.
As you can see from the changelogs, Easy Red 2 received more than one update per week during 2021-2022-2023. We want to keep this up and frequently add new features such as weapons, uniforms, vehicles, factions, game modes and more. Usually new features come from suggestions that users can leave on the Discord server.
Simulation and immersiveness
This is what we want from Easy Red 2. We try to let the player feel all the emotions that soldiers feel in the turmoil and adrenaline of the battlefield. Explosions, destruction, orders, shots will be everywhere around the player, who will be rewarded by the game not for his number of kills, but for his strategic and survival skills .
Large battles and historical locations
The entire campaign will take place on large open-world maps that replicate real battlegrounds and battle plans that are faithful to historical events.
Squad-based gameplay
No one can fight alone; Good tactics require good teamwork.
So be a squad leader, or a medic, or maybe a radio operator: you will always have work to do within your squad.
We have particularly focused on creating sub-objectives that are different from the main mission objectives. While the main objective of a squad may be to conquer a certain area, a sub-objective can be assigned after a radio request from a tank to clear a path from an anti-tank gun that has been spotted . So the gameplay is radically improved, more realistic and dynamic.
Vehicles
Fighting vehicles changed warfare forever, and World War II unequivocally proved it, so get ready to jump in you Panzer 4, Sherman, M3 lee or any other tank that dominated the real battles in the game.
We decided to give the player full control over the crew of the vehicles; He will be able to drive and fire the tanks as long as there are crew members in the seats using each weapon. Also, the battles do not stop when the tank is disabled. Many tankers during World War II managed to escape from unusable tanks and survive the battles, and this will be the case in Easy Red 2: If you lose your tank in battle, you will need to get your crew safely back to their positions.
Devastation
Explosions will destroy sandbags, walls, fences, vehicles, defences, and the battlefield can change drastically throughout the battle.
Also, enemy fire will constantly overwhelm you and your squad. Learn how to move safely in real combat conditions and keep your helmet on your head.
Optimisation
We want a smooth simulation of warfare, so we’ve developed our own graphical style to bring great animations, textures and effects with the trade-off of a high and stable frame rate. This means many more units and vehicles will appear on screen, contributing to the immersion of the combat.
