ACME Opticom XLA-3 is a powerful and flexible optical compressor. The plug-in is developed in close cooperation with Brainworx. Great tube sound and optic-electric ambience thanks to the military-grade steel-coated components. Swipe it across the drum shell for reliable and smooth LA-2A-style pumping. Drive vocals through the input to add clarity and attitude to a weak sound. The unique “Amplifier Mode” allows you to give your signal a harmonic coloration without even touching the speakers. The original XLA-3 has three compression modes. Each of them processes sounds in a completely different way.
Brainworx has accurately emulated the XLA-3 and preserved these features in plug-in form, and several new features have been added to the plug-in version, including a parallel mixing control, an output adjustment control, and adjustable noise level. All of the hardware’s complex and sonically beautiful features were accurately reflected in the plug-in version.
