TechSmith Snagit software is designed for capturing images from the screen. TechSmith Snagit allows you to capture images of any part of the screen, edit and organise the captured images. The user is provided with a convenient means of searching the information saved on the computer.

TechSmith Snagit makes capturing images from the screen easier with the ability to use special capture profiles oriented to specific purposes. The product includes capture profiles tied to the appropriate key combinations. Profiles provide the ability to capture the whole screen as well as parts of it – text from a text editor window, page content, including scrolling areas located off-screen, images placed on a web page, etc. Users are not limited to the set of profiles provided. The product allows users to create their own profiles, orienting them to perform an unlimited number of different image capture tasks. It is also possible to customise keyboard combinations, add various visual effects such as shadows, etc.

TechSmith Snagit provides a set of handy tools for editing captured images. With the product, the user will be able to draw attention to individual elements of the captured image by pointing at them with a captioned arrow. Users can also use the effects of shadowing, highlighting or darkening individual parts of the image, combining several images into a collage.

TechSmith Snagit allows the captured images to be sent to a user-specified email address, posted to a blog or FTP server, and published to Microsoft Office Project, MindManager, and OneNote. The format of the created images is user-defined. TechSmith Snagit supports almost all graphic formats, both common and rare.

TechSmith Snagit automatically tracks images captured with its help and systematises them by storing and sorting them in special Snagit libraries. The product provides the user with the ability to easily search for the desired object among the images saved by the programme. The search is performed by file creation date or by source (desktop, web-site, etc.). TechSmith Snagit creates folders for storing images and allows you to manage the process of placing certain files into the required folders. Keywords (tags) can be assigned to stored images to facilitate future searches.
